A New Thing

I thought I would start a blog to document my foray into stand-up comedy. I have been attending stand-up comedy shows since March 2010 and have been filming others' sets since April of 2010. You can view my Vimeo Comedy channel here. I don't know how interested I am in pursuing comedy but I think it is an interesting field because you can talk about whatever you want. I like the idea of tackling the issues of the day in a humorous way. However, I don't know if I have the talent or interest to pursue it whole-heartedly. My hope for this blog is that it inspires others to try stand-up comedy. I will share what I learn from my experience.

Here is what I consider my first time doing stand-up, although, I did you a very short impromptu set once before at Fallout about 6 months before. The material I used in this set came from 4 months of tweets and I selected my favorites. My comedy twitter account is presilver.

This went surprising well. It was a great feeling to make my friends laugh. Unlike my experience attending and speaking at City Council meetings, stand-up comedy get immediate results.
